Project/Team Release Plan

Ming Xia (1214936) | asked Jul 26 '09, 3:06 a.m.
I tried to create a Product backlog as Project Release plan. However, in the work items tab of this project plan, I was asked to associate the work item category with the project area.

So, I went to the project configuartion->"Work Item Category". But, there is no project Area in the right I could select for the association with a category defined in the left.

Can Anyone advise?

did you mean team area? The right hand side of the configuration screen shows the team areas as defined in the team organization view.

Hi, Mike,

Could you please try to create a product backlog plan? And you will see that in the work items tab of this plan, there will be message saying "There is no work item category associated". And when you try to create a work item category for this product backlog plan, you will find there is no product area to be selected.

To associate a work item category with the project area, you have to
disassociate it from all team areas.

I also found this confusing, so I've submitted work item 88514 asking
that the project area be provided by the GUI as an object that you can
associate a work item with.

Cheers,
Geoff
