Flow target change not persisting after saving the workspace editor

Hi all,

My workspace is having a flow target as stream-1 and have been accepted and loaded to sandbox.

Now when I change the flow target to other stream-2, and save, now after save, my flow target have reverted back to same stream-1. surprised why this happen.

Please some one help me on this.

Thanks in advance

How are you changing or checking the flow target of your workspace? Through the pending changes view or a workspace editor?

through pending changes view itself

sorry, through workspace editor

RTC Version? What do you mean with changing the flow target?
Add a new flow target? Delete the old flow target?
Change the default flow target? Change the current flow target?
Did you refresh the pending changes view?

RTC Version 5.0.2.

Removing the existing flow target which is default and current. and adding a new flow target. now after save, it reverts back to the old flow target by ignoring my said changes.

Never seen anything like this. If the safe fails, you should see an error at least. If you save and then refresh the editor and the old target reappears, I would suggest to look into the server and client logs.

Can you check is it supported version of eclipse used in RTC 5.0.2 client.

Try using with a different eclipse workspace.

I have some questions for you in order to help narrow down the problem.

Are you using the Eclipse client, visual studio client, MSSCCI or Windows Shell?

We have not encountered this sort of problem before nor heard about it from users of RTC. Is there something unique about your setup? Do other users of your server observe a similar problem? Is there special tooling installed that may be reverting your changes?

Can you try the same experiment with the pending changes view? Right-click on your workspace and choose "Change Flow Target..."

Hi Chris,

My Client is having RTC eclipse client and on RTC version 5.0.2 and using RAD.

Developers do RTC operations using RAD. Like the one. Yes some of the users are having the problem. I asked them to try with pending changes view.

Actually i tried too reproduce the problem, but i am not getting that , whereas developer new to RTC are getting this, I am suspecting that removing a component first and removing the flow target is creating the issue (I mean what are all the components in the flow target stream, they are removing and then removing the flow target and adding the new flow target). :)

Seshu,

There may be cross references between stream-1 & stream-2.

Can you view the flow diagram on that workspace (expand all incoming/outgoing on the diagram)  and upload it here..?

sure, Once I reach client next week, I will upload

Can you or the client try this again with the regular RTC eclipse client without RAD installed? Plain RTC should allow you to load eclipse projects, look at the workspace editor and pending changes view.

As per my previous comment, the issue could be the eclipse version.

At this stage, I think that you should contact IBM support with the problem so that it can be diagnosed.

Thanks,
Chris

Thanks All, for your support. Will contact the IBM Rational support

Seshu, did you ever figure out what the problem was here (through IBM Rational support or other means?)
