I am asked to perform the RTC migration task using the below mentioned instructions.

But this needs exporting our existing work item. We are currently running RTC version 5.0.2 in DST. 

What RTC client I should install. I want to connect to DST RTC and try to export the work items.

Your question is a bit confusing to me and lacks the information what you really try to do. Where do you want to migrate from and where do you want to migrate to and why?

In general you always use the client version that matches the version of the server to generate the best results.
