RTC - Is it possible to archive or hide some work item types without deleting them?

hi,
I am using RTC 5.0.2, I am using the Scrum Process template, with my own customized work item types, attributes, etc..

I don't need some of the work item types that come by default with the "Scrum" process template, but don't want to delete them in case we want to use them in the future.

I want to hide or achive those types, because my list is very large. Is there a way to archive or hide workitem types without deleting them at all?

Thank you!

Isabel

Hi Isabel,

There is no out of the box tool, or GUI, to customize the work item creation menu. I've found the following enhancement request, which may be what you are requesting:

https://jazz.net/jazz/web/projects/Rational%20Team%20Concert#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=171233

If you are not using some of the work item types, my suggestion is to remove permissions from users (so they don't submit new WIs of these types). However, even after removing permissions, all work item types will still show up in the WI creation dialog. This is a known behavior, check this another enhancement

Hope it helps
