Is it possible to Archive worktiem types?

We have some custom work item types which were crated in the past.

These aren't used any more and I am wondering if it possible archive them?

The work items itself I can move to an archived Team area. I don't want these custom work item types in the PA / Process configuration

What options do I have?

See this post. The Enhancement work item is still open so I believe the feature to archive work item type has not been implemented yet. Until then, you can only delete them if you don't want them.
