How can the Report widget in the RM widgets catalog be used?

There now is a Report widget in the RM Next Generation widget catalog. However, there are no report resources registered with DNG, and DNG doesn't have the same tooling as does RTC and RQM for registering report resources.

So -- what are the valid use cases for this widget?
