RTC licensing question

RTC allows multiple users to log into JTS from different client boxes using a same logig id thus effectively consuming a single license. Is this a bug or this is the way the product is designed? I can create an id called 'manager' and use it across the company thus consuming only one contributor license! Any comments?

Thanks!

For a desktop application (like a modeling tool), it's reasonable to
require a license for a particular tool. But for a server-based tool
(like RTC), where a user has to "log on" with a specified client
identity, it is more common (at least, for Rational tools) to ignore the
client box ID, and license by user. Otherwise unless you only use a
single lap top, you'd need multiple licenses to work from home and other
remote locations.

Since auditability (knowing exactly who did what) and security (limiting
what a given user can do) are some of the most important characteristics
of a tool like RTC, having all of your users use the same logon ID would
not be of interest to many companies.

Cheers,
Geoff
