RRC and RTC items synchronization

Hello,
RRC items can be linked via "Implement By" link type to RTC items. What is the best best to keep these items synchronized moving forward from RTC to RRC and RRC to RTC? Is OSLC the way to go? 
Does anyone has anything to share?

Can you elaborate what you mean by synchronized?
As the RRC artifact items and RTC work items are linked, they are always up to date. Neither RRC nor RTC stores content or state about each other items, so just follow the link in both directions (or the hover-over popup) and you are presented with the latest and greatest.

 Thanks for the reply. 

 For instance I want to be able to set a status value in an RRC item based on a status in an RTC item that is implemented by the artifact.

I see, and yes, in such a scenario using the OSLC API would be appropriate to implement such a synchronization.
