I'm at my wits end. I'm trying to configure RTC 2.0 RC3 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.3 and when I try to enable the email notification, I get the following error.

The server could not be contacted: 501 Command "HELO" requires an argument

Anytime I've ever seen that error, there was a problem with the sender not forming the request properly. This would be but the setup won't let me configure email notification.

I can ping from the RTC machine to the SMTP server; I can use sendmail from the RTC machine to the SMTP server; I can telnet from the RTC machine to the SMTP server .. all error free.

I admit, I am a newbie to Red Hat so I could be missing something in my RH config.

Anyone know what the deal is?
