Keep Track of File History in SCM

yk wu (4611016) | asked Jun 05 '09, 11:44 p.m.
Greetings,

I'd like to ask if there is any way to keep track of file history in Jazz SCM ?

Scenario: For every deliver, it's ok that process forces change-set associate with WI. But, after deliver, when I go to file history, I can delete (or change) the WI without any audit trail. This can be disastrous when someone delete/change the WI in file history.

Is this working as design or there is actually a way to keep track file history in Jazz SCM ?

Thanks in advance,

You are correct, in 1.0 this is rather open. However, in 2.0 we've added support with a process pre-condition to control how work items are added/remove from change sets. The following enhancement as more details:

https://jazz.net/jazz/web/projects/Rational%20Team%20Concert#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=80568

Basically, in 2.0 you can add a pre-condition to the new "update change set links" operation that:

- allows control to limit only when work item is not resolved
- allows adding an audit trail to the work items
- allows restricting the project area you can associate work items from
