how to use excel or .csv file as data base to one attribute in Work Item

Hi,

   I am using RTC 4.0.6 version on DB2 as database. I have created a customized Work Item attributes in a WI, and this attribute should take the values form external file format automatically on saving of WI.

Can you please guide me how to achieve this???

The only way this would be possible is if the data is provided as XML on a web server. In that case you can use the HTTP filtered value set as source for the values. See https://jazz.net/library/article/1093 especially Lab 4 and look up the HTTP filtered value set.
