With Doors NG from the CLM 5.0.2 suite
Please advise on a work around, or let me know if this is a bug.
This artifact cannot be deleted because it used in at least one module. hide details
ID CRRRW7668E Before an artifact can be deleted, it must be removed from all of the modules that use it. To find out which modules use the artifact, open the artifact and view the Where Used section of the sidebar. Remove the artifact from those modules and then delete the artifact.

I found this issue has already been reported, and a work around exists.
Workaround: - Create a new regular text artifact above the uploaded file in the module. - Demote the file artifact so that it becomes a child of the new text artifact. - Remove the text artifact.

Thank you for this valuable hint.
This is really an annoying issue.

Looks to me like this could be a defect. Have you searched this forum and the RM work item system for this problem?
If a log out, browser cache flush and log back in doesn't solve it (and I doubt it will), then your fastest path to resolution might be to open a support ticket.
