 RTC/RRC 4.0.6 on Windows:

We import users from LDAP. We have changes on selected user display names. Would these changes have any impact on the Jazz tools?

We notice that JTS import users' 3 fields; ID, display name, email address; from LDAP.
We just wonder:
  • If there are occasional resync between the JTS and LDAP ?
  • If so, Would the changes have any impact ?

Hi Truong,

By changing on display names, I assume you meant changing the 'name' mapping of the 'User Property Names Mapping' properties in JTS.
              User Property Names Mapping: userId=uid,name=cn,emailAddress=mail

Would the changes have any impact?
The above change will update user's display name in JTS to the value from the new LDAP attribute that you changed to. The new value should be reflected after LDAP sync process is run (see more details in the link below). Generally, the mappings of 'name' and 'emailAddress' can be changed at anytime. UserId should remain the same or change with caution.

If there are occasional resync between the JTS and LDAP?
Yes, see

Thx Kot.

So we would get your response faster on the forum than on PMR :) , especially for mundane question like this one on severity 4 ?

:-) I think jazz.net is a good place to start when you have quick questions like this.
