Hi Kevin,

You can customize your user preferences and change which e-mail notifications you want to receive. Check this link for details:

Hi Kevin,

As a creator, Owner, Modifier, and Subscriber of a work item, you can configure to receive or not receive email notification when there are changes to the work item. Refer to http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSYMRC_5.0.1/com.ibm.team.workitem.doc/topics/t_configuring_notifications.html?lang=en
