Procedure for testing JRS reports?

Robert Myers (191116) | asked Oct 02 '14, 6:09 a.m.
JRS reports are reading data from RRDI.
1) I set up the right data for my new report.
2) I create the report
3) I do JTS Manager Server->Reports->Data Collection Jobs-> Run all data warehouse collection jobs and check Status to make sure they are complete
4) I run my Report and the data often is not displayed, but if I wait awhile (maybe 8 minutes later?) my data shows in the report when I run it again.
Am I correct that when data changes in CLM, there is a lag for Data Warehouse Collection refresh (manual or automatic) and a second delay when the JRS Server is arranging data or rebuilding Indexes, ???

What is the proper process to follow when developing and testing JRS Reports?  I bet someone in development has understood what needs to be done based on their experience developing the OOTB JRS reports.

Hello Robert,

at point 3, when you "Run all data warehouse collection jobs for all applications",  each application has it's own "Data Collection Job Status" page. You are sure that they all the jobs are complete when you see the success message for the Star job (that is the last to be executed).

From my tests with JRS so far, I haven't experienced the delay in the data being updated after the data collection that you describe.

@Francesco I have added you as a member to my lab Project Area where you can see the JRS Scope reports on the Reports-Changes Tab of the Project Dashboard. You are added as an ordinary user with a CLM Practitioner license.  Let me know if you need more Repo privileges.
I run Data collection for all applications and I run All Data collection jobs too.  Is it possible that JRS sees only the data after the RRDI data collection is run at midnight?  When I looked this morning one change I'd made to the WI yesterday was now reflected in the report but the Planned For change was not

Hello Robert,

does it mean you see the changes only after the midnight ETL, or there are changes that are never updated?

Francesco, we are trying to pin this down.  An example is that last Wednesday we could not see data we had entered in a WI and yesterday, Monday after returning from vacation, the data was there.  Some time in the last 2-3 business days, the RRDI data warehouse updated or JRS reporting became aware of it.  I cannot get a cause and effect relationship to occur between changing data in a WI, running Data Connection reports (STAR, Common, etc) in Jazz Admin->Reports web pages and the JRS reports (Widgets or full reports), but the data does show up eventually
