Plan performance / work item count

Hi all

We have a few teams who create Plans in RTC (Release backlogs mostly) that include 1,000+ work items in their scope. They note many performance issues working within these backlogs as a result.

I was just wondering if there is a recommended cap on number of work items for a plan? (due to performance impacts)

Thanks!

I'd recommend limiting the number of work items in a plan to a few hundred, if you are seeing plan-loading performance issues.   Also, each of the last few releases of RTC included significant improvements in plan loading performance, so upgrading to the latest RTC version is likely to help as well.
