How do I add an Insight Report View in my RTC dashboard?

Jackie Albert (1.6k14947) | asked Jul 29 '14, 5:05 p.m.

I am running Insight 1.1.1.3, integrated with CLM 4.0.5.  We have the Jazz Namespace integration enabled, so we can embed our Insight reports in our RTC dashboards.  This is working great for most of our standard reports, as well as any reports where the results are saved within Insight.

However, when I try to add a Report View of a report following the same process, the Report View doesn't show up correctly... instead when I click to run the report it just shows me the main Insight page with the list of folders/reports. If I schedule the Report View to run and save the results, it will show up as expected, but I'd prefer not to have to schedule these but instead have them run as the users bring up the dashboard.

Hello Jackie,

according to the info center this should be possible using the "Report widget" instead of the "Custom report widget" as described here:

Viewing development intelligence reports in dashboards

However the reports need to optimized for dashboard widgets:

I did eventually get this to work, but it was missing an undocumented step, where in order for the Cognos report to show up in the Report widget it must have the term 'Micro' as part of its identifier in the Report Resource.

I've written a jazz.net Defect to get this more clearly documented:  https://jazz.net/jazz/web/projects/Jazz%20Foundation#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=326374

Thanks a lot for submitting the defect and letting us know of the missing step.

Hello Jackie,

this technote addresses a similar behavior:

When displaying a custom Report View, a white page appears
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21661471

one of the proposed solution is indeed to save the output as you mentioned, the other is to save the report parameters from the CLM side.

I'd prefer not to have to save the output since I have a single report but need a report view to run the same report across 30 different teams - and since we are using DCC our data is updated every 30 minutes.  We don't want to have to run the 30 schedules every 30 minutes to get the proper behavior. As it is, 30 report views is difficult enough to maintain to correlate to each team who wants the report in their dashboard.

How do I save the report parameters from the CLM side? When I use the 'Custom Report' widget I don't see an option to set parameters.
