Does Jazz 5.0 have higher machine requirements?
Hi,
this is just a general observation / question.
I had RTC 4 running on a Linux VM on x86. It run OK. By that I mean I did not notice poor performance.
Just upgraded to RTC 5 and am really noticing how sluggish the Linux VM is when it is running the jazz server and I am on the machine in a terminal. Web page is also slow.
Has anyone else noticed this? Is this a known "thing"?
Regards,
John

John,
no known issues or limitations regarding performance degradation after upgrade to 5.0
The Deployment Wiki does not mention any bigger system requirements. Notice that the underlying architecture has changed to refactor the /rm app database tables away from the /jts in 5.0. I assume you have followed the new upgrade process and your observations are not remnants of missing upgrade steps.
So if you are still observing poor performance, please start with Deployment Wiki Performance Troubleshooting section, do involve IBM Rational Support early, also give Jazz Team Server monitoring a spin to pinpoint the underlying problem (database? disk access? patches to the app server?)
If you find any of these ramblings helpful feel free to accept the answer. Please comment to point out where you need more info.
Best,
Arne
