Test Realtime 8.0 installation error

RAPHAEL BOILLON (389) | asked Mar 28 '14, 11:36 a.m.
Hello
I cannot complete the installation of Test Realtime 8.0 on a Solaris 5.10 sun4u sparc server. The process fails on the following error:
Error executing "/opt/IBM/TestRealTime/bin/sun4/sunOS5/TestRTperl" operation (status=1)

It is a known problem ? Is there a workaround ?

This forum is dedicated to jazz related products. Test Realtime discussions should go to forum in developerWorks:
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rational/products/testrealtime/

I don't think you would receive expected info/answer from this jazz.net forum.

I found the problem.
When the installation is permormed there is a prompt to enter the license server. There is an indication that if this information is not known at the time of the instalation it can be entered later. This is false !
If the license server is not configured during the installation, the installer uncompress all Test Realtime files then deletes them all. So when it try to use some of the uncompressed files (as the TestRTperl in the error) it fails because they have been deleted.

Thank you very much for sharing the findings, I am not sure how many users would understand it from this forum but it could be useful info for anyone who may have the same issue and search in Google.
