How to restore story points?
While attempting to customize a work item I mistakenly deleted the 'custom attribute' Story Points from the story work item type. Does anyone know how to get this back?
I tried re-adding story points with the same properties but RTC then created a second kind of story points. Now all the reporting functionality isn't working. Any help would be much appreciated! |

Hi
The story points attribute still exists in the repository, so you can add it back to the configuration and everything should work again. However, the Configuration UI does not allow to do that, you have to go to the 'Process Configuration Source' tab and add it back there. You can look at the history of the process configuration by right-clicking in the source -> Show History. This should allow you to see how the story points attribute looked like initially. The relevant configuration section is <configuration-data xmlns="http://com.ibm.team.workitem/workitemTypes"... Regards Marcel Jazz Work Item team |
Hi I wonder why this is not available in the configuration editor? Is there an enhancement submitted for this? or is it by design for any reason? |
With 2.0M3D1 it is possible to 'reuse' every custom attribute existing in the repository.
See 72086: Propose existing custom attributes from the repository in 'Reuse existing attribute' (https://jazz.net/jazz/resource/itemName/com.ibm.team.workitem.WorkItem/72086 Regards Marcel Jazz Work Item team |

Ok. My XML looks exactly the same as before... I suspect this is because I attempted to re-add 'Story Points' with all the same information. As a result it appears there are multiple Story Points stored in the database (with the same id).
Is it safe for me to edit the 'ATTRIBUTES' table and remove the row that redefines story points? I don't want to bork the referenial integrety, but I think having two 'Story Point' entries with the same project area and id might be what's causing the problem. Thoughts? Thanks again! |
