Data Warehouse tablespaces folder

What is the exact purpose of the Data Warehouse tablespaces folder that must be specified when you run the setup wizard?
According to the infocenter, the setup wizard creates the DW database tablespaces in that folder.
I wonder whether this folder is temporary or permanent for DW purposes.
After the setup wizard has successfully completed, can we remove the folder?
Many DBAs do not like to let an application write on the DB server filesystem, so they ask us to verify this point.

Hello Luca,

the Data Warehouse tablespaces must be an existing folder in the database machine.
It will contain the physical files for the data warehouse tablespaces, so it cannot be deleted afterwards.
