I'm new to Design Manager. To leverage Design Manager do the RSA models need to be stored in RTC SCM?
One customer has all their RSA models in CVS and I need to know if we need to import these into RTC SCM first.
Thanks, Carson |

Hello Carson,
RSA DM has two ways of working: - Importing models from RSA .emx files - Storing the models directky in RSA DM from the start See: http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/rdmhelp/v4/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.dm.admin.doc%2Ftopics%2Ft_dm_change_data_management.html It is not manadatory for the models to be stored in RTC SCM in order to be able import them into RSA DM. See the InfoCenter page that explains how to use the Model Importer: http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/rdmhelp/v4/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.rcam.install.doc%2Ftopics%2Ft_import_rsa_models.html Thank you, Lara |
Hi,
In addition to Lara's comment, you can have a look at the online help section: Ant scripts for pulling model content onto the Design Management Server. Else, in the IBM Rational Software Architect Design Manager Import Engine installation directory, you should have some sample ant scripts (eg <IBM_INSTALL_DIR>\RSADMImportEngine\cvsAntScriptTemplate.xml) that you could get inspired from.
