Max User Limit of 250

Yanzhuang Li (31134126) | asked Feb 13 '09, 4:03 p.m.
RTC1.0.1 Standard has Max User Limit of 250. Does this mean 250 active users (exclude archive users) can be created at most? I do not think this is the max of concurrent users who can access the server. Could you please confirm? Thanks.

Hi

The 250 user limit applies to the number of people using developer licenses. If you have the regular developer licenses, then you can only create 250 active developers. If you have *floating* developer licenses, then this means you can have more than 250 users, as long as you only have 250 users logged in at any one time.

There is no limit to the number of contributor licenses you can have active.

There is more info in the documentation here:

"Rational Team Concert 1.0.1 editions and licenses"

In RTC 1.0, we had a limit of 250 defined users for a server. If you
have purchased floating licenses, then the limit is 250 CONCURRENT
users, implemented as 250 licenses checked out at a time.

In RTC 1.0.1, we also EXCLUDE Contributor CALs from the server limits,
so only Developer CALs count against it the 250 limit.

I hope this helps,
