RTC Deployment & Locking on IBM i
Hello
When using RTC to deploy objects to the IBM i, can these objects be locked until the deploy is complete i.e. if the deploy consists of a large number of objects can they be locked until the last object has been successfully deployed.
Could I use a pre-command and if so and would it know which objects to lock?
Thanks,
Len

Hi Len,
I haven't tried this before, but the way to attempt to do this would be to use a a pre-deploy command to parse the packageManifest.xml file that will be in the deployment directory after the Load step of the Deploy. This packageManifest.xml has a list of all the objects that will be deployed, that you can go through and then lock. If you turn on the option in the Package Definition to publish the Package Manifest you can see in the package result what the packageManifest.xml file looks like.
