best way for manage version of software tested - QM

 Hello, 
I would like in my test results the version of software tested, Actually we have lab test, but I can´t see the tables for do reports, the only way is include in the test results custom attributes, but, I would like to know which option is the best way for do it and report it.

Using the custom attribute requires to customize reports. I think the best way is defining a category of test case result to show the version of software tested, then you can see the values in the test case result category parameters in OOTB reports.
