RQM Category with Multivalued filtering option displays all test artifacts

Rao Shines (15945162) | asked Jun 12 '13, 7:24 a.m.
 Hi,

We are using RQM 4.X version and we have around 1000 Test Cases out of which 200 Test Cases come under both Functional and Regression suites. We have created a category named "Theme" as multivalued and for 200 Test cases assigned both "Functional" and "Regression" values.

When we use the filter Theme selecting both the values, the query displays all the Test Cases which has Functional and Regression individual values also along with required 200 Test Cases which is not expected.

We expect the filter to be AND condition and display only test cases which has both Regression and Functional values but its taking OR condition and displaying everything which do not serve the very basic purpose of ours using multivalued option.

Can we get better on how we can identify our required testcases.

Thanks in Advance.
Teja.

 Teja,
Yes, what you have indicated is an excellent improvement in how search works..

Mainly AND, OR and any regex type of search if supported on the "Filter" field it will help a lot..

Currently RQM does not have this functionality. I however notice an existing RFE on this :

So it looks like we have to wait till this is implemented in RQM

Best Regards, Sunil

Yes, as Sunil said, you cannot currently use AND, OR.
But there is a  "Group By" on top button which may be of some help. You can choose the category name there.  That way, category will be grouped as  ( "Functional",  "Regression" ), (Functional),  (Regression), etc. depending on what combinations you have. You will still see all the combinations of the values you filtered on.

We cannot grouped by the Test Case categories from the TCERs view. It is a limitation.
