Is there anyway to recover a deleted WorkItem from RTC

My client deleted a WorkItem and wants it back.

Is there anyway to recover it besides a backup

 Hello,
may be I'm wrong, but I don't think it is possible to programmatically restore a deleted work item.
(beside backup)
