Dashboard Plan View Viewlet shows "extraneous" work item place holders

We have a "story" planned for "Sprint 1" and children tasks, some are "Sprint 1" and others are in "Backlog". Don't ask why, it just is.

In the plan view viewlet we have "Project -> current project", "Plan -> Sprint 1 plan" "Plan View -> Taskboard"

On the task board all the "Sprint 1 " items are displayed correctly with, but we also have blank place holders for tasks planned for backlog, is this correct behaviour?

It is possible not to display the place holders?

Hi Lewis 

Thanks for getting the clear steps for reproducing the problem.
I was able to reproduce this issue on the latest RTC server as well.
I will create a defect for the same and post here.

Taskboard views in Dashboard show blank work items (267957) is the defect for the issue.
