Cognos Crosstab report w/ Multiple Dimensions on Columns does not display all data values

derry davis (23222016) | asked May 21 '13, 9:23 p.m.

I have a report with a cross tab in it that has mutliple dimensions for both rows and columns. Data displays properly for all row dimensions (account values, calculations) with the first column dimension (date). The problem comes on the 2nd column dimension. It displays the data for account values but does not display anything for the calculated value (for example if true then (1) else (2) comes up null in the cell). However if I change the formula to a simple value, say (0), then it displays data. The data is partially correct but entirely. The question is 1) why doesn't the formula work and 2) what behavior should I expect when putting in a single value? I was expecting to see the value '0' but it appeared to be more like a summary.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Derry,
Are you getting the correct values when you view output on the query (Query assigned to the Crosstab) itself?

Thanks.

Hi Valli,

The tabular output has data in it. With the logic mentioned above the data item output in tabular form will display '1', just not the crosstab.

Use a singleton in the cells by setting the property of the cell 'define data' to 'yes'. Then point this singleton to the desired query data item.
