Replace XDC file with a .ttl file

Lexi George (112) | asked Jun 06 '17, 10:10 a.m.

Doing research on XDC and .ttl files, my understanding is that both of them are mapping files. We are trying to get away from Data Manager (not use any XDC files) and was wondering if I can just replace the XDC file with a .ttl file (Turtle syntax/RDF)?

Thank you

Hello Lexi George,

the 2 files servers a very different purpose and are not interchangeable.

The xdc file is used by the XML ODBC driver of Insight to bridge the communication between SQL from Data Manager and XML from the REST APIs of CLM.

The TTL files of DCC describe the whole ETL logic.

Ah, thank you. I found this document, can I follow these steps even though I do not have ClearQuest?

Lexi, we are also working on transferring data collection jobs from data manager to DCC. If you have more questions, we'd love to help you where we can, and we'd appreciate any pointers you may have for us, too!
