Openfire - instant messaging connection issue

I cannot connect from RTC to the Openfire Server. Get the error message: could not receive any response from the specified jabber server.

I installed Spark and if I explictly select port 5223 and old SSL method, I can connect to the server.

In RTC, I do not have a way to specify the port. I am not sure if it is trying to connect thru port 5222 or 5223.

In Openfire, the security settings for both Client and server Connection Security for port 5222 are set to:
Old SSL method: Available
TLS method: Optional

In Openfire, the security settings for both Client and server Connection Security for port 5223 are set to:
Old SSL method: Available
TLS method: Not Available

What version of open fire are you using? Did you run the initial setup,
after installing? To be able to connect successfully it requires an
initial setup procedure in which you may create users and configure the
server.

We installed Openfire 3.4.1.
And yes, we did run the setup. We created a local account.
As I mentioned using Spark we can connect, so we know that the server is working...
We opened the 5222, 5223 originally. Later we opened the 5269 and 7777 (file transfer)...
Later we also configured Openfire/LDAP.

RTC connects to OpenFire using SSL on port 5222. This works ok for internal use at our office with OpenFire 3.4.1. We still have troubles with our firewall however.

Hello,

sorry for replying to a five year old thread.
But I have the same Problem, I tried Openfire 3.8.2 and 3.4.1 with the exact same settings as yours and cannot connect with the RTC Client. Another Messenger (like Miranda IM) works fine.

How did you solve this problem?

Thanks in advance.
