You cannot really delete a project area. You can archive it. This will hide
the project area by default and keep it from being used. Be careful, because you cannot un-archive a project area. To archive, open the Team Organization view, right-click the project area, Archive... You will need to have the permissions configured in the project area to archive the project, and possibly to archive teams. In order to create a project area (and successfully initialize it) you must be in the JazzAdmins group and have a Developer Client Access License. In the mean time it should be possible to un-archive a project area as well.
