Missing RTC features between the process template 1.0 and 4.0 when both are on RTC 4.0 server environment.

We are one among the early adopters of RTC in 2009 and we have a RTC instance created with process template version 1.0 . But now 2012 , our RTC hosting environment got upgraded to RTC 4.X and every new project area created will be based on process template version 4.0 .. Having RTC process template 1.0 on RTC server environment RTC 4.x, I now want to push / upgrade my process template to the current version ie. version 4.0... Comparing process template version 1.0 with version 4.0 , I found some of the types of work items were missing in old process templates.
Please let us know If there exists any other difference in addition to the above stated difference in types of work items, between process templates version 1.0 and version 4.0. If yes how those difference have to be handle during up gradation, Please share your experiences.
