What is the impact on plans when moving teams between timelines?

What´s the impact of moving one team from one timeline to another.
Are we going to loose the data shown in the old plans of the team?
Is there anything else I should take into account before deciding to move a team to another timeline?

The work items would stay on the old timeline, I guess. You might want to change the planned for attribute.

Ralph,

My concern is that I have core and custom releases.
I have different timelines, one for the core releases and another one for the custom releases. I have a core release plan and one team that started working on the core release but suddenly was transferred to a custom release.
Will my release plan show the stories of the team that worked on the core release even though it's been transferred to another timeline?
