Does, or when will, the RTC eclipse client support the IBM connections functions like "Add work item to activity" and post to social network?

This is not currently supported and, glancing through the open work items filed against the Connections Integration, does not seem to even be under consideration.

How does one go about getting it under consideration?

Just go to jazz.net and create an Enhancement and file it against Connections Integration. Then get a bunch of other people to add comments about how important it is to them, too.
