Is there an upper limit on the number of release iterations that can be created within one Project timeline?

The limit is 2048 iterations within a timeline.  Otherwise 
the error message will appear.

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Item Handle array cannot exceed 2048 elements."

There is no limit that I'm aware of.
