permission denied t display reports with process sharing concept in RTC 4.0

Hi All,

 We have 2 project area PA1(Master) and PA2 -consumer. Users are present in PA2 and process roles assigned to users in PA2. PA1 is only for process and role definition(Like -- Role name and permitted actions to that role)

USER1 has role team lead in team in PA2 and default role in project area level of PA2. USER1 was able to run reports with RTC 3.0.1

Recently we upgraded RTC server to 4.0. After this USER1 from PA2 not able to run reports getting permission denied errors.

 I updated USER1 role to team member in project area level of PA2. then it worked fine.

 Can anyone plz explain why this behaviour in RTC 4.0?

How the role assignments work ?

For Roports which roles will be applied?
