Workflow customization - making a field mandatory

Hi,

I didn't get a chance to look into the details of workflow customization. Is there a way to make a field in a work item mandatory at any state in RTC? Please let me know.

Thanks
Theju

The Operational Behavior can only be modified in the Eclipse client at this time (up to 4.x).
In addition to this very old answer, since 3.x we have now a "Required Attributes for Type and State precondition".

Thanks a lot Ralph.

I have installed Eclipse Client and made required changes. It helped.

Hi
Prasad, glad you got it working. Can you please accept the answer?

Hello theju,

There is one way that work for all state changes. I don't know about one
that works for just one specific.

Open the Process Configuration, go to Team Configuration>Operational Behavior
In the browser on the right side select Work Items>Save Work Item.
Select a Role to edit the preconditions and follow up actions.
Change or add the Required Properties precondition according to your needs.

BTW, there are ways to move your custom properties to other tabs, e.g. to
make editiong required custom properties easier placing them at the general
tab.

I cant find Process Configuration and Team configuration - operation behavior anywhere in web client.

Prasad
