Report jobs now inexplicably running on alternate days ?
![]()
Environment: CLM 3.0.1.3 consisting of 3 JTS (2 WAS, 1 TC), numerous CCM applications registered to the 3 JTS. AIX 6.1; DB2 v9.7 FP6. DB2 FP6 applied Sept 2, 2012.
Situation: Customer reports data points being added to warehouse data only on alternate days. I have confirmed this via looking at the Data Collection Job status. I've checked several of the CCM applications and this right now only appears to be associated with those that are registered to "jts02" in our environment. I checked the settings in the Advanced settings on the application admin page; the value for the snapshot delays are their default of 86400. But wait the infamous Star warehouse job on the JTS is over 24h in duration: Succeeded Common Sep 12, 2012 11:59 PM Sep 13, 2012 12:00 AM 4 seconds Succeeded Star Sep 11, 2012 3:00 AM Sep 12, 2012 6:54 AM 1 day, 3 hours Succeeded Common Sep 10, 2012 11:59 PM Sep 11, 2012 12:00 AM 3 seconds Succeeded Star Sep 9, 2012 2:45 AM Sep 10, 2012 5:27 AM 1 day, 2 hours Succeeded Common Sep 8, 2012 11:59 PM Sep 9, 2012 12:00 AM 3 seconds Succeeded Star Sep 7, 2012 3:14 AM Sep 8, 2012 5:28 AM 1 day, 2 hours Succeeded Common Sep 6, 2012 11:59 PM Sep 7, 2012 12:00 AM 4 seconds Succeeded Star Sep 5, 2012 3:28 AM Sep 6, 2012 3:30 AM 1 day, 2 minutes Succeeded Common Sep 5, 2012 12:10 AM Sep 5, 2012 12:10 AM 4 seconds Succeeded Star Sep 3, 2012 2:43 AM Sep 4, 2012 1:14 AM 22 hours, 31 minutes So, I'm thinking I've answered my own question ... However, this JTS has no QM or RM registered so is the Star job really needed ? I reported poor performance of this job last year (I think fix is out in v4), but we're not there yet. TIA, Kevin |

Hi Kevin,
The poor performing STAR ETL has been fixed in 3.0.1.4 and 4.0. Please upgrade to either. Until then, I would suggest disabling the STAR ETL unless you are using RQM or RRDI. None of the RTC out of the box BIRT reports use the STAR Schema. Kevin Ramer selected this answer as the correct answer
