Importing requirements from CSV in CLM 4.0

I tried importing artifacts into RRC using the import from CSV and there were few custom attributes for my artifact type. It did set the designated values from CSV in case of enumeration however i was not able to set the default value for a custom free text field. The value came up as blank.
Is there any specific approach for custom attributes with freetext?
