Getting the RFT adapter to point to the RQM sandbox
I am trying out "Recording manual scripts" functionality of RQM 4.0. For this I need to configure my RFT adapter to point to the RQM sandbox I am using (from Jazz.net). I tried entering server names like
"https://jazz.net:443/sandbox01-qm" and "https://jazz.net/sandbox01-qm" , but my adapter is not able to connect to the sandbox. Please suggest the public URL which I should use in my adapter to connect to the sandbox. |
Accepted answer
I verified that https://jazz.net/sandbox01-qm is indeed the correct URL and also, unfortunately, verified that the RFT adapters hangs when attempting to connect. The sandbox(es) will be down 9/8 and 9/9, I'd suggest trying again when they return. If the failures continue, a support ticket is likely your best avenue to resolution.

Thanks Jerry, I will check again later ... |

The form is generally "https://<server>:<port>/<context root for RQM>, where the 4.0 context root for RQM is "qm" by default.
I would then suggest https://jazz.net:443/qm. Comments

Thanks Jerry, but this does not work either. When I put in "https://jazz.net:443/qm" as the server value, I get 3 options in the Project Area drop down namely: 1. RTC (QM) 2. jazz Collaborative ALM (QM) 3. Jazz Foundation (QM) I tried with all of these, but still adapter is unable to connect. Any other suggestions? |
Hi Smitha
When you selected https://jazz.net:443/qm, you tried to select non sandbox server (another selfhost RQM server) and that's why failed to connect as you do not have permission to those projects. To know the public URL, you should look at the rootservices document e.g. https://jazz.net/sandbox01-qm/rootservices I think https://jazz.net/sandbox01-qm is the correct URL. I tried connecting and adapter hangs so seems that there is some problem with RFT adapter (v8.2.2) when connecting to these specific URL of sandbox. Comments

Thanks Pramod, That was the URL I used first and I got the error "Unable to connect to the specified RQM server". |
Experiencing similar (?) difficulty using straight command line adapter to sandbox. Suspect configuration of sandbox is related (possibly disallowed for security?) Next best path would be a support ticket.
