RTC upgrade path from 3.0.0 to 4.0

We are using RTC V3.0.0 (not 3.0.1) and would like to upgrade V4.0.

My question is, can I upgrade directly from 3.0 to 4.0 ?
Or should I upgrade from 3.0 to 3.0.1 before upgrade 4.0 ?

In other words, which path is correct to upgrade RTC from 3.0 to 4.0?
・3.0 -> 4.0
・3.0 -> 3.0.1 -> 4.0

Please read http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/clmhelp/v4r0/topic/com.ibm.jazz.install.doc/topics/c_upgrade_overview.html

Please also use the interactive upgrade guide to plan and prepare: http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/clmhelp/v4r0/topic/com.ibm.jazz.install.doc/topics/roadmap_clm_upgrade.html

At the top of the page it states:

Upgrading to version 4.0

This guide describes upgrading Rational Team Concert 3.0 or the server applications for Collaborative Lifecycle Management (CLM) version 3.0.1 to CLM version 4.0.

Note: Upgrading from version 2 to version 4 is a two-step process. You must first upgrade your server to version 3.0.1, then upgrade to version 4.0. For instructions on upgrading from version 2 to version 3.0.1, see the 3.0.1 information center.

For information on upgrading the CLM applications on z/OS, see Special instructions for upgrading on z/OS.

The step wise document can be found in the interactive upgrade guide in the help. We created a workshop for going to CLM2011 because that was very complex. This time it is not so complex and the upgrade guide should do. More information can be found in the library using the keyword upgrade, for example: https://jazz.net/library/article/819
