Hi,

We are getting the below error message frequently when trying to log into RQM. This gets fixed after a server reboot.

We have collected the log file from the server which doesn`t have much information. Can anyone guide us on how to go about troubleshooting this issue.

Note: We are using Apache Tomcat as the application server and Oracle as the DB.

Contact your Jazz Team Server Administrator to learn how to get access."

Return to the Log in screen.

Hi Anoop
What URL you are trying to access. This message means that user does not have access to that area.
E.g. If you are accessing RQM application ..\qm\web\console\projectname, and see this error, it could mean user is not member of the project area

Similarly if user is trying to access rqm admin page ..qm/admin, this message mean user is not having CAL as project administrator /jazz admin.
If you can list out CAL assigned to the user and role and membership in the project, it would be easy to derive what is allowed to the user

Hi Pramod,

That is the normal behavior we see when a user is not added to a PA or not assigned a proper license.

Here it looks totally different when I login to jazz/admin sometimes I could see the connection to the DB is broken and sometimes it gives licensing error. After rebooting the server this issue gets fixed automatically.

The workaround is not applicable here as in the case of production enviornment.

I agree with Pramod that this message normally indicates a licensing related issue. Since the problem is resolved after a reboot it appears that there is a problem with reading the licenses from the Jazz Team Server. Losing connection to the database would definitely cause that.

The next step would be to see if there is some reason such as a bad network connection which caused the connection to the database to be lost. If that does not yield any answers you probably want to file a bug report or contact support.

Hi Anoop

I assume, you are using floating licenses in this setup.

If thats the case, you would want to check for the total number of licenses against the total number of users.

I have seen issues where the floating licenses were less than the total number of users.

In such cases, the last login would get a license assigned from any of the random users.

This would lead to the above error message for the user from which the license was obtained.

Best Regards

Rajat
