Hello,

I have a couple of questions:
1)If I have my project in CVS (or SVN) how can I import my history to Jazz?
2)What about connectors to CVS or SVN (like for CC/CQ ?

To import from CVS you can browse using the CVS repositories view, select
a folder and run "Import into Jazz" from the context menu.

Not exactly sure what you are asking but I'll give it a stab.

Are you looking to bring in history of your CQ record? I think this would be rather tricky. History as far as I know must be added via a supplied out of the box package to a record type in ClearQuest. Also as far as I know it is a reference list parent child link.

This would be pretty tricky to bring into Jazz. It seems like mappings set up in the .xml are pretty basic in the sample schema provided to test CQ Interop. Set the task to an owner, fill out the discussion/description, set the priority etc.

As such in the example schema that the Jazz Team offers (Defect Tracking) there is no history tab. There might be some fancy way of adding the package in Clearquest and then creating new mappings in the synchronization rules xml, but that would take some time commitment (time I unfortunately don't have to mess with ;)).

Hi,
I asked about CVS/SVN connectors in general.

Ah I see. My fault, got your two questions mixed up. :)

it is possible to import.

1. open CVS perceptive in Eclipse ( hope you are using RTC eclipse or p2 plugin installed in eclipse).

2. connect to CVS repository from CVS perceptive.

3. once it is connected, can see all of your CVS projects . with HEAD, Branch, Version etc...

4. under HEAD, select one of the project and right click.

5. select import into JAZZ.

6. select the option to import directly to your Repository Work space and Component. ( options are there to create the same.)

7. in next option, select default options and in history, select import all changes from "HEAD"

8. you can map CVS users to JAZZ users or select the option "automatically map cvs users to jazz users and create any missing users" (it will create CVS users in JAZZ, if you are using WAS, must be created in WAS and assign roles and License).

9. click on finish and after that go to component or repository work space,  -> show repository work space,  -> open the file -> show history. it shows only created date.

10. right click on component and load and do deliver once... again check the history of file, it show the all history tags.

happy CVS import to RTC.

note: pls. check your flow target before delivering data.

Regards

LN
