Are questions auto-accepted after a while?

There seem to be a lot of questions that have an answer, but the creator hasn't marked an answer as valid.

Is there a timeout that auto-accepts the questions with the highest vote after a certain time?

No, answers are not auto-accepted after a time period. I think it would be incorrect to build a knowledge base of answers marked as verified that have not actually been verified.

Regardless of whether the creator has marked the answer as valid, users can vote the answer up to denote that it has value.

I don't like the answer, but it's accurate. :)
