Ask a question

why are my custom attributes not editable

Peter Osborne (2921719) | asked Jun 22 '12, 8:01 p.m.
I have created a custom defect work iten type with custom attribute called investigation note.  I have created a custom presentation with a custom tab called notes.  I added this attribute to the presentation, but it doesn't allow for entry in the work item.

Hi, What type is your custom attribute? What type is your presentation? I chose custom attribute investigation_note type Large String and picked presentation of type text (string also works). Works for me. If we find out what is different in your setup, we can proceed to find the cause. I used RTC 4.0 and a SCRUM based project area. What are your parameters? - Arne

If you create a new work item, does it allow you to edit that?
For old work items, the attribute would not exist and that might be the reason. You have to "Synchronize attributes" to get the attribute added to older work items. See: https://jazz.net/library/article/529
