Auto Synchronization failing in RQM for ReqPro

Ankit Kothari (1361616) | asked Apr 12 '12, 12:27 p.m.
Hi,

Current version: RQM 2.0.0.1 iFix 4

We are able to run the synchronization manually, but the auto-synchronization is failing.

Properties mentioned in the Advanced properties of Server, under Requirement section:

Requirement Package Display Level: 100

RQM Requirement Connection Purge: false

Incoming Sync Task Userid: <Administrator> (belongs to JazzAdmins group). The Administrator have "Save Work Item" enabled in Permission of Project Area.

Requirement Incoming Sync Task Fixed Delay: 43200

Get Package Information from ReqPro: true

Any help on this would be really appreciated.

Short snippet of the error message in the log file:

11 Apr 2012 16:08:56,227 WARN com.ibm.rqm.requirement - Save or update requirement item failed due to 'Save Work Item' failed. Permission denied.

Hi Ankit,
Could you please check whether the <Administrator> has the permission for "Save Requirement Work Item" in each project area? thanks.

Best Regards,
Scarlett

Hi Scarlett,

Administrator does have all the rights, but in our case we have not added the user which was mentioned in the Advanced Properties to the Project Areas.

I have added the user to all project areas. Testing is in progress to check if there is still a problem.

Clarification: Do we need to add the Admin to all the project areas?

Thanks,
Ankit

Hi Scarlett,

I am still getting the same error in the error logs. The Admin has been added to all project areas. Also, the Admin has Save Work Item security enabled.

Thanks,
Ankit

The problem sounds like defects: https://jazz.net/jazz02/resource/itemName/com.ibm.team.workitem.WorkItem/24106
and
https://jazz.net/jazz02/resource/itemName/com.ibm.team.workitem.WorkItem/29257

The root reason for these 2 defects are a JF defect, which recommend to always add all ADMIN to all project area as a work around for this problem
https://jazz.net/jazz02/resource/itemName/com.ibm.team.workitem.WorkItem/18601

But given this advice does not work for you. Could you please try, whether you can create Requirement Type Work Item using the ADMIN user in the project having problem? try change the requirement and save, see whether it is really permission problem for "save work item" with ADMIN user.

Best Regards,
Scarlett
