Trust Error when linking "Tested by Test Case"

Martin Lauridsen (1211211) | asked Mar 19 '12, 5:08 a.m.
Hi there,

We have an issue with our distributed RTC/RQM setup. When a user wants to make a link from a work item under the category "Tested by Test Case", we get a trust error:

2012-03-19 09:54:44,192 ERROR com.ibm.team.calm.foundation.server - Problems acquiring the remote service document: The URI "http
s://cccc58.hosting.dk.ibm.com:9445/jazz/service/com.ibm.rqm.integration.service.IIntegrationService/services/_TQ464MPHEd6RFpwlVlG_tA" cannot be the target of a request, as it is
not a trusted friend.
com.ibm.team.repository.common.TeamRepositoryException: The URI "https://cccc58.hosting.dk.ibm.com:9445/jazz/service/com.ibm.rqm.integration.service.IIntegrationService/services/
_TQ464MPHEd6RFpwlVlG_tA" cannot be the target of a request, as it is not a trusted friend.

I don't understand why it refers to port 9445, as we are using port 9443 for our setup. Also, I don't understand why it needs host cccc58, as this is the machine running RTC, and I am trying to make a link for an RQM test case.

Has anyone seen this before and have a fix for it?

Hello,
when you create a link from a RTC work item to a RQM record,
there are 2 links created:
1 - the RTC --> RQM one (TestedBy ...)
2 - the RQM --> RTC one (which we call backlink creation) so that a similar link (to the RTC work item) will show-up when viewing the RQM record.

Given your error msg, I would say that #2 is failing because you're RQM project / server may still have pointers to a jazz / RTC server for which the set-up was not completed (may be).

I would check on the RQM configuration and verify there is no obsolete / incomplete RTC links - and remove them.
Then ensure your RQM server has valid pointers and is a trusted friend of the RTC Server.

Finally - in case you want to validate your RTC/RQM cross-application configuration, you may want to use the embedded CLM Test Application
https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Main/RTCL3#Using_CLM_Test_Application_in_RT

Thanks.
Eric.

Hi Eric, I have checked, double-checked and cleaned up in the Consumers and Friends sections for RQM, JTS and RTC, however I still get the error. I am not sure what is in the link you posted, there seems to be a lot of information and I don't have a real idea of what I am looking at.

Hello Martin,
the CLM Test App is an embedded test app to mimic cross-product application operations.
Example: you can mimic the creation of a backlink, from a RQM test case to a RTC work item.
Doing this, you may collect more information about the error you get.

If still stuck - or lost - you may open a jazz work item
https://jazz.net/jazz/web/projects/Rational%20Team%20Concert#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.newWorkItem&ts=1332166876000
or a PMR

Thanks.
Eric.
