What is the meaning of this message ?

Category 'Something' is required but it has no Category values.

User is adding Test Case categories and there ARE items visible when the "Something" is expanded.

Do required test case categories need to have a default value?

What are the steps to reproduce?
I did this
1. Created a new Category "Something"
2. Set attribute "Define as required"
3. Click Save
An error message appeared and did not allowed saving it, That is expected
4. Now I added one child category to right hand side
5. No save again
This time save passed.

Although I am testing on RQM 3.0.1.3.

Customer has provided some screen shots that appear to have categories values defined. But looking closely the screenshot shows one category selected, but the message complains about another. But since it's stated that the message appears upon "Save" it means that probably the data is being validated.

The customer did use "wierd" entries for category values e.g.

WI NNNN: bla bla woof woof
WI NNNM: another one like the last

so I don't know if the validation might be grocking on some of the characters interpreting them as delimiters (e.g. : )

Thanks for your reply. It is a nice feeling to get an email that one's post has received a response. I have posted many questions, issues but not that many get a reply.

Could you get some more details with snapshots. I will debug it like this. Get out of Project properties and open again. Make some changes to one of the category and save it. Try to reproduce it with just single case.

Well, for today customer updated his issue ticket with this:
====================================
Whaddaya know... there is a workaround.

--------------
Problem 1: So, when adding a RELEASE, I get an error about the "TSM Line Item" category.

Workaround: After ADDING the "Release", SELECT "TSM Line Item" category and THEN hit the SAVE button and it saves successfully.

--------------
Problem 2: When adding a "TSM Line Item", I get an error about the "Test Team" category.

Workaround: After ADDING the "TSM Line Item", SELECT the "Test Team" category and THEN hit the SAVE button and it saves successfully.

=============================================

This was after I noted that the selected line in the category list was different from the one mentioned in the error.
