Does the Team Concert Eclipse client support using a SOCKS proxy to access the repository?

I have set up a SOCKS proxy using PuTTY and am trying to access the repository using the proxy. I can access it fine using firefox and using the eclipse client I can access the various Eclipse update sites. However, access to the Jazz repository times out each time.

I have searched the forums and jazz.net library and turned up nothing. I found https://jazz.net/jazz/web/projects/Rational%20Team%20Concert#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=116680 on Jazz.net which implies that SOCKS is not supported but its also to do with 'distributed' so it's not clear if it applies to all cases.

Can anyone confirm one way or another?
